Aesop's fables are my own academic speciality, and I never get tired of reading new versions of the fables. Because the traditional fables are usually quite short, that gives you lots of room to re-tell the story in creative new ways. The trick is to find a specific topic or theme that will help you choose three or four stories that will fit together nicely for your project.
