Aesop's Fable 58. The Woman and the Hen

There was a woman who had a hen, and this hen laid an egg for her each and every day. The women liked having the eggs and wanted to have as many eggs as possible. "What can I do?" she asked herself. "Right now my hen lays one egg every day, but I would like to have more eggs than that."

After thinking about this problem, the woman came up with a plan. "If I feed the hen more food, surely she will lay more eggs!" So, the woman began to feed the hen more and more food. Yet things did not turn out as planned: the hen got so fat that she didn't lay any more eggs at all.

The moral of the story is that you should be satisfied with what you have. If you are greedy and want more, you might end up losing everything.
